Mozzetta Pocket Knife Ox Horn Handle
Descriptions & details
The Mozzetta is a folding knife featuring a traditional blunt blade that has its roots in Italy during a time when knives with pointed blades were not allowed to be longer than 4 cm, which is less than 2 inches. The term "mozzetta" refers to the knife's cropped blade, with the Italian verb "mozzare" meaning "to cut off."
The Italian Regional Collection by Consigli celebrates the rich tapestry of Italy's diverse regions through meticulously crafted pocket knives, each bearing the unmistakable essence of its place of origin. These knives, steeped in heritage, were born from a tradition of practicality, designed to accompany people through their daily tasks. Today, they are a testament to the enduring legacy of Italian craftsmanship and cultural diversity.

The artist
When the Consigli brothers founded their own knife-making company in the 1950s, they already had a long experience in this ancient craft and knew how to make a difference.
They experimented with innovative materials and created hard-working, robust, and durable working knives with designs inspired by regional traditions. Encouraged by their success, they went on to create new, high-end collections of kitchen and table knives that have been their best-selling product ever since.
Made of high-quality materials, both natural and synthetic, Consigli knives are entirely handcrafted using traditional production methods. The company motto is "nothing but the best", and their products are true to it.
The company is located in Scarperia, a charming little village perched on a Tuscan hill north of Florence.
Scarperia has been home to the knife-making industry for more than 600 years. The origin of the ancient, illustrious tradition of iron-working and blade making is lost in the mists of time. Still, the magic of the simple, essential gestures that forge perfect blades and change them into legendary knives is intact, handed down from one generation to the next.
